Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups chopped apples, peeled
- 1 cup caramel sauce, for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream the butter and sugars together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, blending thoroughly before adding the next, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped apples evenly throughout the dough.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden on the edges, slightly soft in the center.
- Drizzle with caramel sauce while warm and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For added flavor, sprinkle sea salt on the caramel just before serving. Use fresh apples for best texture.
