Ingredients
- 2 cups Chocolate Chips (Milk or Dark)
- 1 cup Candy Canes, crushed
- 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil or Shortening
- Heart-Shaped Silicone Molds
Instructions
- Prep your workspace: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside your heart-shaped molds.
- Melt the chocolate: In a double boiler, combine your chocolate chips and coconut oil. Stir until fully melted and smooth.
- Add the crushed candy canes: Stir in half a cup of crushed candy canes once the chocolate is glossy.
- Mold the hearts: Pour the chocolate mixture into your heart-shaped molds, filling them three-quarters full.
- Cool and set: Let the molds cool at room temperature then refrigerate for about 30 minutes or until firm.
- Pop them out: Gently remove the hearts from the molds and smooth rough edges with fingers.
- Finish with a flourish: Sprinkle remaining crushed candy canes on top while the chocolate is still warm.
Notes
Try using white chocolate for a sweeter twist or flaked sea salt for a sweet-salty flavor balance.
