Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries (or frozen)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add cinnamon if using, then set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined.
  6. Fold in the blueberries gently.
  7. Using a cookie scoop, drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For added sweetness, drizzle with a glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
