A comforting and flavorful dish featuring tender beef and vibrant broccoli in a rich, umami-packed sauce.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp canola oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Begin by thinly slicing the beef against the grain into strips.
  2. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Let it marinate for at least 20 minutes.
  3. While the beef is marinating, steam the broccoli for about 2-3 minutes until bright green and slightly tender.
  4. In a large skillet, heat canola oil over medium-high heat until hot.
  5. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and sear for about 2 minutes without moving. Flip and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  6. Reduce heat, add the steamed broccoli, and pour in the marinade. Toss for about a minute to heat through.
  7. Drizzle sesame oil over the dish before serving.
  8. Serve over rice or noodles and enjoy!
