Ingredients
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- In a separate bowl, combine the sugar and melted butter, mixing until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition, followed by the pumpkin puree until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, sprinkling extra chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature ingredients and avoid overmixing the batter.
