Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 eggs, at room temperature
- 2 cups chocolate chips (mix of semisweet and dark)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the flour and baking soda. Set aside.
- Cream the softened butter with the granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Add the salt and vanilla extract, then incorporate the eggs, mixing well.
- Gradually stir in the flour mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips ensuring an even distribution.
- Using a tablespoon, drop mounds of dough onto a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden around the edges but still soft in the center.
- Allow cooling on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For chewier cookies, refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Sprinkle sea salt on top before baking for a deeper flavor.
