Ingredients
- 2-3 pounds fresh apples
- 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 cup water
- Optional spices (cinnamon or vanilla)
Instructions
- Wash, peel, core, and slice the apples into manageable pieces.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the apple slices with sugar, water, and lemon juice. Simmer over medium heat until apples are tender (15-20 minutes).
- Transfer the mixture to a blender and puree until smooth. Adjust sweetness if necessary.
- Let the puree cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for about 1 hour.
- If using an ice cream maker, churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until smooth. If not, pour into a shallow dish and freeze, stirring every 30 minutes for three hours to break up ice crystals.
- Once the desired consistency is reached, scoop and serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the freezer.
