A healthy and delicious homemade treat for dogs made with apples and carrots, perfect for bonding time with your furry friend.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 24 bones

Ingredients

  • 2 Apples, cored and chopped
  • 2 Carrots, grated
  • 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour (or rice/oat flour for gluten sensitivity)
  • 1 cup Rolled Oats
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Core and chop the apples into small pieces. Grate the carrots.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the chopped apples, grated carrots, oats, and flour. Mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add them to the dry mixture, mixing until a thick dough forms.
  5. If too sticky, add more flour until workable.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ½ inch thick and shape into bones.
  7. Place the bones on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Supervise your dog when trying a new treat and adjust the size of the bones based on your dog’s breed and chewing ability. Avoid overbaking them.
